Our groundbreaking technology

At Operation Phoenix.we're redefining ocean cleanup. Discover how our innovative approach tackles the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, transforms plastic into energy, and regenerates marine ecosystems. This isn't just cleanup; it's a complete oceanic revival.

Turning off the faucet, cleaning the tub

Many projects attempt to clean the ocean, but at Operation Phoenix, we do more than just collect plastic. We're the only mission that truly stops the flow of pollution, cleans the existing waste, and uses the byproduct to foster new life. We don't just skim the surface; we regenerate the ocean from the inside out.

Energy Autonomy: From Plastic to Power

At the heart of the Ghost Ship 1 is a closed-loop Thermal Depolymerization system. By harvesting plastic directly from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, we provide the raw material for our onboard refinery.

Using an oxygen-free, high-heat environment (450^C), the Foundry breaks down solid polymers into their original molecular state. This process creates a high-grade synthetic crude oil that powers our entire fleet, achieving true Energy Autonomy. Instead of shipping waste back to land, we transform it into the very resource that fuels the ocean’s recovery.

Regenerating the ocean's lungs

Operation Phoenix goes beyond mere cleaning; we actively regrow the ocean's vital ecosystems. Our proprietary Vitamin Wake Regenerator boosts phytoplankton blooms. For every ton of plastic removed, our technology helps the ocean produce enough fresh oxygen for 5,000 people to breathe for a full day, restoring the ocean's health and its capacity to sustain life.

A self-sustaining, carbon-negative solution

While others see a crisis, Operation Phoenix sees a resource. By transforming ocean plastic into the fuel that powers its own removal, and simultaneously regenerating the ocean's capacity to produce oxygen, we've engineered the first truly self-sustaining, carbon-negative solution to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
